There has been a listing on IMDB for quite some while, indicating that Rupert would appear in a film called The Tutor, with a 2017 release date.
It sounds like a rather nice story, so I was disappointed to find out that it probably won’t happen now. Rupert explained that The Tutor was a project originating via his former agent, and he suspects that the connection was lost following the switch to his current agency.
please note: Unfortunately filming for This Way Out had to go ahead without Rupert, due to his filming commitments with Merlin.
The film production company Forward Motion Pictures is currently seeking crowdfunding to help them make their next film titled This Way Out.
Why do I mention this here…? Because there is a chance that Rupert might be cast in it!

I have since heard from Rupert Himself that he never actually appeared in Doctor Who, and he has no idea where this IMDB listing came from. Which is a damned shame for all kinds of reasons!

Well! This popped up on Rupert’s IMDB page, so I assume it’s all legit … and it gives me something more to ask him about at the next con I attend!
Rupert apparently had an uncredited role as a Roman in this episode of Doctor Who.
I just squinted my way through the episode, and think I’ve spotted him in the background of the scene where the Doctor faces down a whole universe of spaceships …
