The New Look (2024)
Rupert appears as journalist Malcolm Muggeridge in What a Difference, the fourth episode of this series. The New Look focusses on the designers Christian Dior and Coco Chanel, working in Paris during and after the Second World War.
Muggeridge is played as suave and charming – but he has a complex agenda of which Chanel is unaware. Coco Chanel is portrayed by the wonderful Juliette Binoche, so at least it was a real pleasure to see her and Rupert working together!
The episode was directed by Helen Shaver, and released on 21 February 2024.
Wales Comic Con, Telford (2023)
Rupert was a guest at the convention Wales Comic Con in Telford, UK on 18-19 November 2023. He was joined by Alex Vlahos, who played the older Mordred in BBC Merlin.
I was lucky enough to attend! A real blessing, as I hadn’t seen Rupert since before the pandemic. He is, of course, still an absolute delight to chat with (and indeed to politely ogle).
Rupert was available for autographs throughout the con, and photo shoots on both days. He and Alex also participated in a Merlin-related panel on the Saturday.
Alas, Rupert confirmed that he won’t be appearing in the third season of Bridgerton. (Obviously I’ll just have to daydream about Jack returning to romance Lady Featherington!)
I’m delighted to report that he’s growing his Sir Leon hair out again! It was hidden under the usual baseball cap – emblazoned with another of his school badges, this time celebrating his ability to swim 50 metres!
Here are a few photos I took during the panel…

How I have missed that lovely smile!
Premiere of “David Holmes: The Boy Who Lived”
Rupert, along with Bradley James (Arthur in Merlin), attended the premiere of David Holmes: The Boy Who Lived on 17 November 2024. This is a documentary made by Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe about David Holmes, his stunt-double in the Harry Potter films, who suffered a tragic accident while filming that paralysed him from the neck down.
You can read more about the documentary, and the circumstances in which it was made, in this Variety article.
Rupert has often participated in the annual David Holmes Cricket Cup (more information here) which raises money for the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. Though, you know… who needs a reason or excuse to invite Rupert to anything?
The following photo was kindly shared by Bradley on Instagram.

A Little Life
This beautiful human

Celebrity Cutouts!
Thanks to the prompting of our fan-friend Angie, Celebrity Cutouts now have Rupert in stock! You, too, can have a 6ft 3in (193cm) cutout of Rupert looming in your home, either in casual dress or that beautiful green velvet suit he wore to the Bridgerton premiere. If that feels like just too much to cope with, there are also “mini” versions available at 1ft 9in (60cm) tall.
For when you can’t have the real thing!

London Carol Concert (2022)
Rupert has appeared at the Rainbow Trust’s Christmas carol concert before, and it’s great to see he was there again on 1 December 2022. I have no further details of his performance or anything, but found this delightful photo of him by Jon Buttle-Smith on Instagram, as well as a group photo with his fellow celebrities.
Loves of my life
Rupert was stage father to Lucy Anderson in Dear Evan Hansen.
